COVID-19 INFORMATION

**COVID-19 Vaccination and Pregnancy**

COVID-19 vaccination (including the 3rd dose booster) is strongly encouraged at ANY stage of pregnancy to prevent severe disease from COVID-19.  Drs. O’Toole and Tomas are very supportive of pregnant and breastfeeding women receiving the vaccine.  If you have any questions, please ask at your appointment.

To book an appointment for a vaccine, please visit https://covid-19.ontario.ca/covid-19-vaccines-ontario or your local public health unit website.

In an effort to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19, we are requesting that all patients CALL FIRST before you present to Labour and Delivery for ANY REASON:

- Wearing a mask during your visit is mandatory; if you do not have a face covering, we will provide one for you.

During your time in Labour and Delivery:

Only ONE support person will be permitted to accompany you in Labour and Delivery.  There will be NO VISITORS allowed in the hospital.  COVID vaccination for yourself and your labour support person is strongly recommended.

COVID-19 Vaccination in Pregnant and Breastfeeding women:

The SOGC, ACOG (American College of Ob/Gyn) and sMFM (high risk obstetric society) have all come out in favour of the COVID-19 vaccine being available to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.  Drs. O'Toole and Tomas are strongly in support of these statements and would be happy to discuss this further with you.
